Christmas Greetings

Taunton Motoring Club would like to wish all past, present and future members a happy and relaxing Christmas and New Year.

Our Treasure Hunts start again on the 12th January, and there are still another 4 events to go, so plenty to play for in the Winter Series.
We’ll also be organising some Nav Scatters.

Membership can be renewed for 2012 online, through the TMC web site, or via the more traditional post.

Ian White

It is with deep regret that we have to announce the death of Ian White (formerly Director of Whites of Taunton).
After a long battle with cancer, Ian passed away peacefully at home on 3rd December 2011.
Ian had been associated with the club for many years, although not so much in recent years due to his poor health. He will be remembered in more recent times for his and Whites of Taunton sponsorship of the very successful Wildlife Rallies at Cricket st Thomas, which ran until the late nineties.
I am sure that there are many of our more senior members who have good memories of Ian prior to my time at the club and have a story to tell of his and their rallying exploits together.
With this in mind I would like on behalf of Taunton Motoring Club pass on our deepest sympathy’s to Ian’s family at this difficult time.

Treasure Hunt 8th December

Route finalised today. Start and finish venue will be the Lamb & Flag at Blagdon. Interesting route again this week with some tricky questions as some members seemed to have worked out the organisors thinking now! You will need all the usual things clip board, pen and a torch. Route instructions will be available from 7.30 onwards. Food will be available, order before leaving with your route instructions.

Scatter Results

Five crews tactled the first navigational scatter on Friday 2nd December. Four of the crews had novice navigators and hopefully this will encourage some more club members to come out for the next one which will be in the early part of 2012. Thanks to Jason Price and Gareth Andrews for organising the event. A lot of effort goes into putting on event like this so we need as many club members who can, to participate to support and encourage organisors.
